John Hughes, chief oral historian in the office of Washington's Secretary of State's office recounts the political career of Slade Gorton, three-term Republican Senator from Washington.  Mr. Hughes speaks with former Sen. Gorton followed with questions by David Ammons of the Associated Press and Joe Connelly of the Seattle Post-Intelligencer at the Rainer Square Atrium in Seattle.

John Hughes is the author of several books, including Booth Who?: A Biography of Booth Gardner.  He is a former reporter and editor who is currently the chief oral historian of the Washington Office of the Secretary of State.
