Historian Stanley Weintraub recounts the Christmas holiday of 1941, two weeks after the Japanese bombing of Pearl Harbor.  Mr. Weintraub examines America’s entry into World War II and the populace’s new, wartime reality.  He also recalls Winston Churchill’s visit to the White House on December 22, 1941, where President Roosevelt and Churchill lit the White House Christmas tree and discussed their alliance and strategy for the War.  Stanley Weintraub speaks at Chester County Book Company in West Chester, Pennsylvania.

Stanley Weintraub

Stanley Weintraub is the author of numerous books, including 11 Days in December: Christmas the the Bulge, 1944 and Silent Night: The Story of the World War I Christmas Truce.  He is a professor emeritus of Arts and Humanities at Penn State University.
