About the Program

Historian George Daughan recounts the naval battles between America and Britain during the War of 1812.  The author reports that the American fleet totaled twenty ships and faced a British navy of over a thousand men-of-war.  Mr. Daughan examines how the American navy, despite their limited resources, outmaneuvered their opponent and supported the U.S. Army's ground forces.  George Daughan speaks at Water Street Bookstore in Exeter, New Hampshire.
