Robert Jay Lifton is a lecturer in psychiatry at Harvard Medical School and Distinguished Professor Emeritus of Psychiatry and Psychology at the City University of New York.  His books include the National Book Award-winning "Thought Reform and the Psychology of Totalism," "Death in Life: Survivors of Hiroshima," and "The Nazi Doctors."
