Jeff Madrick, former economics columnist for the New York Times, is editor of Challenge magazine and a regular contributor to the New York Review of Books. He is an adjunct professor of humanities at The Cooper Union and a senior fellow at the Roosevelt Institute. Mr. Madrick's books include "The Case for Big Government" and "The End of Affluence."
