About the Program

Historian John Ferling presents a history of the American declaration of independence from Britain in July 1776.  The author recounts the maturation of the decision as well as the American and British response, which included a selection of sympathizers in the British Parliament and many nervous colonists who were interested in a peaceful resolution of differences with Britain.  John Ferling speaks at the Kansas City Public Library in Kansas City, Missouri.
