About the Program

The co-authors of Why Obamacare is Wrong for America present their criticisms of the recently passed national health care legislation.  The panelists argue that the new health care plan will restrict coverage, raise insurance costs, and increase the deficit. The panel includes: Thomas Miller, former health policy director at the Cato Institute; Robert Moffit, senior fellow in domestic and economic policy studies at The Heritage Foundation; Grace-Marie Turner, founder and president of the Galen Institute; and James Capretta, former health policy official in the Bush administration. 

About the Authors

Robert Moffit

Robert Moffitis a former senior official at the U.S. Department of Health and Human Services during the Reagan administration.  He is a  senior fellow in domestic and economic policy studies at The Heritage Foundation

Grace-Marie Turner

Grace-Marie Turner is the president of the Galen Institute.  She is the founder of the Health Policy Consensus Group and served as a member of the National Advisory Council of Healthcare Research and Quality and the Medicaid Commission.

James Capretta

James Capretta is a fellow at the Ethics and Public Policy Center.  He served as the Associate Director at the White House Office of Management and Budget from 2001 to 2004.
