About the Program
Pulitzer Prize-winning author Richard Rhodes examines nuclear weapons holdings and the prospects for nuclear disarmament in the post-Cold War age. The author examines how the last twenty years has shaped the current debates over nuclear weaponry from the interest of non-nuclear states to develop the weapon and the diplomacy used to prevent their creation to the issues that nuclear powers face in regards to the cost to maintain their holdings and the decision to downsize their arsenal. Richard Rhodes discusses his book at the National Museum of Nuclear Science and History in Albuquerque, New Mexico.

Richard Rhodes is the author of over twenty books, including the The Making of the Atomic Bomb, which was the recipient of the Pulitzer Prize in Nonfiction and the National Book Award for Nonfiction.
