About the Program
A panel discussion on the Tea Party. The participants present their thoughts on the Party's supporters, what they stand for and their potential impact to the upcoming 2010 mid-term elections. The panelists include Dick Armey, former House majority leader, chairman of FreedomWorks and author of Give Us Liberty: A Tea Party Manifesto, Kate Zernike, national correspondent with the New York Times and author of Boiling Mad: Inside Tea Party America, Jill Lepore, history professor at Harvard University and author of The Whites of Their Eyes: The Tea Party's Revolution and the Battle Over American History, and Tucker Carlson, editor in chief of The Daily Caller. The event is hosted by the National Press Club in Washington, DC.
Dick Armey
Dick Armey served as a Republican Congressman from Texas for eighteen years, where he served for a time as the House majority leader and was one of the authors of the Contract with America. Mr. Armey is currently the chairman of Freedom Works. He is the author of The Freedom Revolution and The Flat Tax.
Kate Zernike
Kate Zernike is a national correspondent for The New York Times who has reported on education, national elections, and Congress. She was formerly a reporter for The Boston Globe.

Jill Lepore
Jill Lepore is the author of numerous books, including The Name of War, the recipient of the Bancroft Prize and New York Burning, which was a finalist for the Pulitzer Prize. She is a staff writer for The New Yorker and an American history professor at Harvard University.
