About the Program
Richard Wieler discusses his self published book, "Chasing Normality." Mr. Wieler was diagnosed with polio at 15 and within a week become almost completely paralyzed. After years of rehabilitation, including a year at the Roosevelt Warm Springs Institute for Rehabilitation, Mr. Wieler learned how to function as independently as possible using a few adaptive devices. Although he was told he would probably remain homebound, Mr. Wieler went on to graduate from law school and to be an assistant attorney general for the state of Missouri.
