The Greatest Trade Ever: The Behind-the-Scenes Story of How John Paulson Defied Wall Street and Made Financial History

Gregory Zuckerman

About the Program

Gregory Zuckerman talks about John Paulson, whose hedge fund, Paulson & Co., made $20 billion by betting against the housing market in 2007 and 2008.  On April 16, 2010 Paulson & Co. was named by the SEC in its civil lawsuit against investment bank Goldman Sachs.  The SEC suit charged that Goldman defrauded its investors out of $1 billion by selling them mortgage-backed securities without disclosing that the securities were selected by Paulson & Co. or that Paulson & Co. shorted (or bet against) these same securities.  This talk by Gregory Zuckerman was hosted by MIT's Sloan School of Management.
