About the Authors

Mumia Abu-Jamal

Mumia Abu Jamal is a former Black Panther Party member convicted of the murder of a Philadelphia police office in 1982.  He's been on death row for more than 20 years and awaits the Pennsylvania Appellate Court decision on whether his original sentence will be carried out or commuted to life in prison.  He's author of several books, including "Live from Death Row" and "We Want Freedom."
