The authors discuss their newsmaking book about the 2008 presidential campaign, as well as the impact of the book on politics and policy in Washington.  They appeared on C-SPAN's morning program "Washington Journal" in January 2010.  On June 30, 2011, Mark Halperin was suspended as a political analyst for MSNBC for calling President Obama an inappropropriate name.

Mark Halperin is editor-at-large for Time magazine. He is also the co-author of "The Way to Win: Taking the White House in 2008" with John Harris.

John Heilemann

Mr. Heilemann is national political correspondent and columnist for New York magazine.  He's a former staff writer for The New Yorker, Wired and The Economist.  He's also author of "Pride Before the Fall."
