About the Program

Andre Schiffrin presents a collection of political cartoons by Theodor Geisel (Dr. Seuss) from the pages of New York's former daily newspaper, PM, which published from 1940-1948.  The collection also includes work by other artists, including Al Hirschfeld and Saul Steinberg.  Andre Schiffrin discusses his book with Paul Milkman author of PM: A New Deal in Journalism at New York University in New York City.

Andre Schiffrin was formerly the managing director and editor-in-chief of Pantheon Books and founding director of The New Press.  He is the author of numerous books, including A Political Education and The Business of Books.
