Stiles, The First Tycoon: The Epic Life of Cornelius Vanderbilt. The National Book Foundation presents a Medal for Distinguished Contribution to American Letters to Gore Vidal and a Literarian Award for Outstanding Service to the American Literary Community to Dave Eggers.
