Tracy Kidder is a winner of the 1982 Pulitzer Prize for General Nonfiction and the 1982 National Book Award, both for “The Soul of a New Machine.” He also received the 1989 Robert F. Kennedy Award for “Among Schoolchildren.” Mr. Kidder is also the author of “House” and “Home Town.”
