Rep. Henry Waxman (D-CA), chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee, recalls his thirty-five years in the U.S. House of Representatives.  Rep. Waxman presents his thoughts on several pieces of legislation that he has worked on, including the Clean Air Act and more stringent tobacco regulations.  Rep. Henry Waxman discusses his book and takes national phone calls on C-SPAN's The Washington Journal.  Henry Waxman announced he will retire from Congress at the end of 2014, after 20-terms in Congress.

Henry Waxman has served as a democratic representative for California's 30th Congressional District in the U.S. House of Representatives since 1974.  He was Chairman of the Energy and Commerce Committee's Subcommittee on Health and Environment from 1979 to 1994.  He is currently the Chairman of the House Energy and Commerce Committee.  For more information, visit waxman.house.gov.
