About the Program

Richard Brookhiser, who wrote his first article for The National Review at the age of fourteen and was hired as the magazine's senior editor at twenty-three, recounts his relationship with the conservative magazine's founder, William F. Buckley, Jr. whom at one time deemed Mr. Brookhiser his successor only to later change his mind.  This event was sponsored by the Manhattan Institute and hosted by the Harvard Club in New York City.

Richard Brookhiser is a senior editor of National Review. He is the author of several books, including "What Would the Founders Do?" and "George Washington on Leadership." Mr. Brookhiser was the recipient of the National Humanities Medal in 2008.
