About the Program

David Vine talks about the U.S. military base on the island of Diego Garcia in the Indian Ocean and the 2000 residents of the island who were forcibly exiled from there by the Americans and the British in the late 1960s and early 1970s.  Diego Garcia is a launch pad for aircraft used in the wars in Afghanistan and Iraq.  Professor Vine spoke at Modern Times Bookstore in San Francisco.
