About the Program
Investigative journalist Bryan Burrough presents a history of the four wealthiest oil families in Texas in “The Big Rich: The Rise and Fall of the Greatest Texas Oil Fortunes.” Mr. Burrough details the lives of H.L. Hunt, Roy Cullen, Sid Richardson and Clint Murchison as they accumulated wealth and ascended from local to national figures. Bryan Burrough discusses his book with Republican Representative Joe Barton who represents the Sixth District of Texas.
Bryan Burrough
Bryan Burrough is currently a special correspondent at Vanity Fair and was formerly a reporter for The Wall Street Journal. He is the three-time recipient of the Gerald Loeb Award for Excellence in financial journalism. Mr. Burrough is the author of several books, including "Barbarians at the Gate: The Fall of RJR Nabisco" that he co-authored with John Helyar.
