A panel discussion on the American presidency that features Gary May, author of "John Tyler," William Leuchtenburg, author of "Herbert Hoover" and Timothy Naftali, author of "George H.W. Bush."  All three biographies are part of  "The American Presidents" series published by Times Books.  This event was hosted by the National Constitution Center in Philadelphia.

About the Authors

Gary May

Gary MayGary May is the author of several books, including "The Informant: The FBI, the Ku Klux Klan, and the Murder of Viola Liuzzo." He is a history professor at the University of Delaware.

William Leuchtenburg

William LeuchtenburgWilliam Leuchtenburg is the author of several books including, "In the Shadow of FDR: From Harry Truman to George W. Bush" and "The Perils of Prosperity, 1914-1932." In 2008, Mr. Leuchtenburg received the Arthur M. Schlesinger Jr. Award for Distinguished Writing in American History of Enduring Public Significance. He is professor emeritus at the University of North Carolina at Chapel Hill.

Timothy Naftali

Timothy NaftaliTimothy Naftali is the director of the Richard Nixon Presidential Library and Museum. Mr. Naftali is the author of numerous books, including "Khrushchev's Cold War: The Inside Story of an American Adversary" and "Blind Spot: The Secret History of American Counterterrorism."
